HP weld overlays are manufactured by our proprietery welding machines, with unique process technology to weld chromium carbide hardfacing layer onto the substrate.

Customizability

HP Wear-Resistant Plates are available in a range of thicknesses and can be customized according to various overlay alloy/substrate combinations that are produced with either single or double pass overlay layers. Using the open arc welding process, HP Plate overlays are prominent in a wide and smooth bead shape with a clearly defined and well-developed pattern of stress cracking, which exhibits outstanding resistance to wear. Visible cracks on the surface are formed to release stress. They exist only in the hardfacing overlay and do not progress into the substrate.

The microstructure of HP Wear-Resistant Plates is a mixture of high volume hexagonal-shaped chromium carbides in tough austenitic and martensitic matrices.
